Land deed between John Smith Jr and Elijah Hide

To all People to whome these presents Shall Come Greeting, Know Ye that I John Smith Junr of Norwich in the County of New London and Colony of Connecticut in New England for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred & eighty Seven Pounds to me in hand well and Truly paid att the Executing of these presents, By Elijah Hide of the Same Norwich affores[ai]d: the Receipt whereof I do acknowledge and am there with fully Satisfied, I have therefore Given, and Granted, and by these Presents Do fully, freely, & absolutely, Give, Grant Bargain, Sell alienate Enposs Domise Convey, and Conferre unto him the S[i]r Elijah Hide and to his heirs & assigns for Euer, I have therefore Given, and G all that my fifteen acres of Land which I have Lying and Being in Norwich affores[ai]d. on the East Side of S[i]r Elijah Hides Dwelling house which he purchased of Iacob Cocker and is part of a Certain Tract of Land that my Hon[oura]ble Father Obadiah Smith Late of S[i]r Norwich Do[cto]r purchased of Christopher Huntington, and is to be taken off att [th]e Southerly End of S[i]r tract in such form that an East and west Line through the whole will make fifteen acres To Have & To Hold the above Granted and Bargained promiss with all and Singular the appurtenances & priviledges to the Same Belonging; unto him the Said Elijah Hide his heirs and assigns, to his and their only propse use & Behoof for Euer; and I the Said John Smith for my Selfe my heirs Executors and do in it[em] do by Covenant Promise Grant & agree to and with him the Said Elijah Hide his heirs & assigns in Manner following that is to Say, that on the day of the Date untill the Ensealing and Executing of these presents I the said John Smith am the True Sole & Lawfull owner of the above Granted Promiss with the appurtenances & that the Same are free & Clear from all Inum berances whatsoever; and that I Winford the after Servant Seurs and Defend the Same unto him [th]e S[i]r Elijah Hide his heirs & assigns against all Just Claims and Demands Whatsoever, In Witnesse whereof I the S[i]r John Smith Have hereunto Setting hand and Seal the 31st day of March A[nn]o 1741.
